BACKBLOCKS STRUGGLES.
To the Editor. Sir, —Would you allow us a small space in your paper (my wife and 1 are bush settlers) to bring our hard lot under notice. Wo have been settled on Block 7, Aparima Hundred, for three years, and have, suffered every' hardship that falls to the lot of bush settlers. We have improved our bush section to almost perfection, taking into consideration the state of the roads. in winter you cannot get a sie.dge through them, and in summer it costs ns £2 a ton before we can get our produce to the Invercargill market. —We are, etc., THOMAS JONES. ELLEN JONES. Otautau, July 10.
