To the Editor. Sir, —The Labour Representation Committee are greatly mistaken if they think. I will keep out of print to suit ■their convenience and quietly submit to i«ny fake statements they are likely to make. It is now quite apparent that because I did not allow myself to be trapped, as was the case in their previous selection, they must condescend to abuse, but I am quite prepared to let the electors decide the issue notwithstanding the wrath of the L.R.C. I hold that Labour not being strong enough to put in their own nominee must in order to be successful study the outside of all kinds and in their selection thus L.ILC. have failed lamentably to see the point. Perhaps It may give the L..R.C, a grain of comfort to say that among my supporters arc unionists Mid non-unionists, also workmen skilled and unskilled, who arc not ashamed of Their labour, and it is to these that 1 confidently look for a successful issue cm polling day.—l am. etc., JACOB ALSWEILER.

Sir, —Seeing that at the recent election !Mr Sheehan polled such a large majority over the three candidates that stood on that occasion, and was declaimed duly elected by the Returning Officer (but owing to a technical point was disqualified) would it not be better, and in the interest of the ratepayers, to allow him to be nominated and elected, and so save the ratepayers the expense of over £6O for another election. I am sure if this was dono it would be a graceful act. — I am, etc..
