WAR PENSIONS
OPERATIONS SFMMARIS ED. ' (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, February 11. At its last meeting- the War Pensions Board dealt with 4 2 oases, fourteen from •soldiers and 28 from dependents. .Six soldiers were granted pensions totalling £33S per annum, seven were granted temporary allowances representing £IBB, and one application was declined. Of tlie dependents 23 were granted pensions, and five applications were adjourned. Of the six pensions granted four were for £1 per week, one for 35s a week, and one for 15s. One of the dependents was the mother of a lieutenant. She was granted £1 per week. Another was the wife of a private and got £65 a year for herself and £i3 for each of her four children. Up to the present the Board has dealt witli 31S soldiers and 538 dependents as follows: — Soldiers. Dependents. Granted Pensions . . 90 463 Granted allowances izs 3 Rejected 35 , 3R Adjourned ....•’. IT 9 Awaiting 39 25 Totals ,\ .. .. SIS 53 S The 562 pensions draw annually £25,205, and in addition the 131 allowances represent the payment of £3547.
