TRENTHAM CAMP

MENINGITIS PATIENTS. THE LIGHT, AIRY QUARTERS. (Special to tho Times). WELLINGTON, July 22. It has been suggested that the meningitis patients at Trentham are housed in dark, ill-ventilated quarters under tho racecourse grandstand. The allegation is a somewhat serious one because it is essential to the successful treatment of meningitis that the patients shall have as much sunlight and air as possible. The Prime Minister stated this evening that the statement that the patients were in tho room under the grandstand was not correct. In actual fact they were in a tea kiosk at Trentham, which had been specially made available for them. In this building, he said, the men could, have lots of light and air.
