A German communique claims that the Bavarians bloodily repulsed six enemy attacks at Reichsacherkopf and captured portion of the French trenches. The Germans brought down an enemy biplane at Parroy Wood. Three German airmen made an aerial flight over Munster Valley, and forced three adverseries to descend in the Thann Valley. ■ ' IN AFRICA WELCOME TO BOTHA (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright) CAPETOWN, July 22. General Botha was accorded a magnificent welcome. The streets were thronged and gaily decorated. The Mayor, in receiving the General, said that they were filled with thankfulness and admiration for the way in which General Botha’s troops carried out the j campaign, the brilliant strategy, per- | sistent energy and mobility, chivalry, i and wise moderation in the hour of vic- | tory to which was due the bloodlessness j of the campaign.
