j;o\nr> of governors incorporated. £9OO DONATED FROM SOUTHLAND. (Per United Press Association). DUNEDIN, July 7. At the meeting of the Dunedin Prcslytery to-day the Rev. A. Whyte reported that the committee of the Presbyterian Girls’ College had proceeded with the incorporation of a Board of Governors. They had resolved: (1) To purchase Bishop’s Court and had called for tenders for alterations and additions; (2) to purchase the goodwill of Braemir House school, to remove the school into Bishop’s Court in September and ask die Misses Miller to act as principals (ill Christmas; (3) to offer the permanent appointment to principal to Miss Frances J. Ross. M.A., at present principal of Girton College, and the appointment of lady superintendent to Mrs Nisbet, widow of the late Rev. Dr Nisbet. and at present head of the boarding establishment in connection with Girton College: (4) on the -suggestion of the Misses Miller they had decided that the college should he called Columba Girls’ College. It is to be noted that the constitution allows for the establishment of similar colleges throughout Ota°-o. The sum at present promised to the'college is £2219, of which the Presbvtery of Oamaru has promised over £SOO, and the Presbytery of Southland about £9OO. About £1550 is regarded as in hand.
