••Old Friend": —Hyde is on the Otago Central railway about 63 miles from Dunedin. The train leaves Dunedin at 7.50 a.m.. and arrives at Hyde at 11.45 a.m. There is a post and telegraph office. The township stands on the Taicri river. Doubtless the postmaster would give you fuller information.—Ed. S.T.
