TRAM RETURNS
A SLIGHT IXCREASir, The tnimway revenue last wefk was •slightly better than has been the case* during the past few weeks; although the total still hangs in arrear of the corresponding period of last year. Taking the returns week by week it is to be seen that there is a rather surprising consistency in the daily returns, and that there are certain days upon which the revenue is invariably smaller or greater than on other days. This is especially so with regard to Mondays, when the average housewife is too busily engaged at homo to take an afternoon outing, by which the trams would benefit. An effort is at present being made to popularise the Wa.ihopai reserve, and to that end another band concert will be held on Easter Sunday, and a special service will be provided to cope with trafiic. As Thursday is likely to bo a busy day the usual Saturday service will be in operation on tit at day as well as on Saturday, but the ordinary service, will be maintained on tlood Friday. The daily returns for the two periods mentioned were as follow :
