SOUTH AFRICAN DEFENCE
LETHARGY COMMENTED UPON. By Telegraph.— Press Association.—Copyright. CAPETOWN. August 19. Received 191h, 11.5 p.m. Mr Fredric Dowsal, who is representing the Union Government in the absence of the Minister, in an interview stated that the English and Australian seamen aboard the Australia and Sydney would be treated alike at the festivities. Regarding Naval defence, .Mr Dowsal confined himself to the observation that each dominion must solve the Naval problem in her own way. The Cape Times remarks that Mr Dewsal will require to execute his task as host with amazing dexterity if his eulogy at the banquet on Australia’s Naval energy is not to be even more effective as a comment on South Africa's naval lethargy.
