-OVERTAKING THE DEMAND. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 28. There were three land ballots yesterday,” said Mr Massey to-night, "one each In Auckland, Otago, and Southland. The Auckland ballot was rushed, but la the case of neither Southland nor. Otago have the whole of the sections been taken up, though the Commissioner reports that all will be taken in a short time.” The Premier added that there was ■till some Crown land In Canterbury for ■election.. In the cases mentioned there ■were more sections offering than applicants, “It looks as if we are beginning to overtake the demand,” observed Mr Massey.
