TRAMWAY APPEAL CASE

A PEXALTY REVISED. (Per United Press Association). PUNEDIX, January I I. The hearing of an appeal by George Lamborne, a gripman, against dismissal from the service of the Dunedin and Kaikoral Tram Company, was concluded this morning. The Magistrate (Air Wi idowson) in giving Ills decision on behalf of the Board said that a preliminary point was raised by Mr Stephens that tlie appeal did not lie. as a ■week’s notice had been given. The Board held that section « of the Tramways Amendment Act, 1910, gave the right of appeal in all oases. The Board came to the conclusion that the appellant's dismissal from the, service of the Company for the reasons given was too severe, and that it should lie set aside. The determination of the Board was first that the appellant's dismissal being too severe it be set aside: that. in lien thereof the appellant he suspended for two months from 27th November, 1912, and that appellant be reinstated in the service of the Company as spare grlpjjjan on 27th January.
