BLIZZARD IN BRITAIN

lIOUNTAINOUS SEAS, TRAINS COLLIDE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright). LONDON, January 13. The blizzard continues. The Mauretania was delayed at Liverpool for 28 hours. The Celtic, from Queenstown, reports mountainous seas. She reduced speed on her trip across and poured oil on the waters. The High Peak railway has been blocked for three days. Thousands of workmen in Peakstone quarries are Idle. The Leicester express collided, while going 50 miles an hour, with a Walsall train at Bromford Lane. Both trains w'ere wrecked, and a woman and child were Injured. The accident Is attributed to the snow affecting the signals. Tlie snow broke an electric wire at Sheffield and it fell on the tramway, which received a high charge of electricity. As a result two horses were killed and the two drivers received a shock. They were unable ta escape. Two workmen ran to their rescue, and were struck down. Two others took off their overcoats, stood on one, and threw the other to the stricken men, who were then hauled out of danger. PERISHED IN SNOWSTORMS. LONDON, January 14. Received.
