SOUTHLAND RESULTS. (Per United Press Association). WELLINGTON. January 14. Tlie following are the results of the Junior scholarship examinations for Southland:—Robert Stevens 613 marks, Stewart Green 600, Alan Tennent 567, John Hlskens 561, Thomas Preston 559, Harold Royds 541, Allan McNaughton 528, Marguerite Junker 522, James Prain 522, Charles Broad 506, Esther McDowell 503. Wiiliam Melvin 500, Geo. Whitmore 489, Patrick Cody 488, James Lang 487, Ina Rowens 457, George Kingston 484. Winifred Pearce 484, Margaret Chlttock 483, Julia Hannan 483, Elsie Dykes 477, John Fordo 465, Gilbert Jenkins 460, John Ewart 459, Jane Lee 458, William Donald 457. Anna Finlayson 457, Tbos. The examination lists show tlie candidates who at tlie Education Department's examinations of November and December last qualified for Junior, National, or Education Board Junior scholarships, or through scholar-ship examinations for Junior free places In Secondary Schools, District High Schools and Technical Schools. Tlie names are arranged in order of merit, according to the total marks gained by tlie candidates of (lie possible total of 800. Candidates in tills list on satisfying the Education Board of their eligibility in other respects, age included, will be eligible to receive: a scholarship up to the limit of ttie numbers of scholarships available. Those who do not receive scholarships may receive Junior free places.
