PROPOSED NEW INDUSTRY
BROWN PAPER FBOM FLAK BEFUSE (Per United 'Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, Nov. 13. A movement Is on foot to establish mills in this district to make brown paper from flax refuse. ‘ A large meeting of flaxmlllers has approved of the proposal and appointed Messrs M. Cohen, Broad, C. A. Loughnan, and L. Seifert, a committee to ascertain the cost of machinery, etc.; and report at a further . meeting. It is considered that the refuse of flax manufacture, now wastage, and also waste vegetation In flax swamps can, be profitably utilised in this way.
