WOMEN IMMIGRANTS.
A SCHEME SUGGESTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.—Copyright.) LONDON. July 14, Received July 14, 10.0 p.m. Princess Christian and the Presidents of the Women Workers’ Union, the British Women’s Emigration Association, the Young Women’s Christian Association, and the Girls’ Friendly Society, have issued ia circular offering suggestions to the. overseas governments respecting' women emigrants. They suggest selection by responsible officials and reliable agencies, to sail under the care of a State-paid matron, each State to provide a reception home and free board and lodgings for three days. The officials will find situations, wl,th approved employers, and the girls will be allowed to return to hotels during the Interval of service at a moderate charge. The State will be asked to appoint voluntary inspectors to visit the girls during the first year’s service.
