A DISHONEST LAWYER
CRIFFEN’S SOLICITOR FUNISHED. (By Telflgraph.— Press Association.—Copyright.) LONDON, July 12. Mr Archer Newton, Crippen’s solicitor, has been suspended for twelve months and ordered to pay costs for publishing a fictitious corifession by the accused. Mr Justice Darling stated that he was satisfied that Crippen had not been defended as he should have been. The case was conducted largely for the purpose of making newspaper copy. Others besides Newton deserved punishment.
