A RAILWAY DISASTER
MANY KILLED AND INJURED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association. —Copyright.) NEW YORK, July 12. The Colonial express leaped an embankment through striking a switch while travelling at 60 miles an hour. Five Pullman cars, a day coach and a baggage car crashed towards the street. Twelve passengers were killed and forty-four were injured. King, a young machinist, was driven insane by the accident, although uninjured. The train was late and the engineer was ‘endeavouring ’to make up lost time. The day coach was smashed to matchwood, and everyone aboard was killed or injured. '
