A Sydney cable reports that the P. & O. Company’s Medina has been launched «t Greenock. „ . The auxiliary schooner Huanui sailed for the Macquarie Islands at 8.30 p.m. en Tuesday night. The s.s. Wairuna sailed on her return trip North at S a.m. on Wednesday. The s.s. Invercargill arrived from Invercargill at 3.30 p.m. yesterday loaded 7 tons coal and one bull, and sailed for Preservation at 6 p.m. , The s.s. Arawa arrived at Hobart at 10 a.m. yesterday and is due in Wellington on 21st March. U.S.S. CO. STEAMER MOVEMENTS. Weather summary and forecast : Considerable rain has fallen in the southernmost districts, especially during Wednesday night. Cloudy and hazy weather has prevailed, and the winds have been variable. The barometer rose everywhere during the night and remained steady to-day. Present Indications are for changeable weather generally, fair weather predominating in most parts for about 21 hours. Moderate to strong easterly and northerly winds will probably prevail. Barometric pressure Is now high and very unsteady, and a fall is due shortly.
