Mr J. L. McG. Watson has been granted leave of absence from the Invercargill Borough Council meetings for tlie remainder of his term as councilor. Mr Watson intends visiting the O’d Country, and he purposes leaving New Zealand on 6th February. The King and Queen will (says a cable) visit Dublin and Edinburgh in July. Reuter says that their Majesties’ visit to India will not affect the Duke of Connaught's Governorship of Canada. The Duke will sail for Ottawa in tlie autumn.
