NAVAL MATTERS
BATTLESHIPS POB PORTUGAL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association- —Copyright.) LONDON, Jan. 26. Received Jan. 26, 9.25 p.m. The “Daily News” Lisbon correspondent reports that Vickers and Company have secured a contract for ten battleships (varying from 12.000 to 16,000 tons), and an arsenal, the whole costing twenty millions. The expenditure is to be spread over a long period.
