SCOTT'S EXPEDITION
(Per United ,Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 21. The crew and staff aboard the Terra Nova were kept busy this morning. The hulk Darra has discharged into the hold of the Antarctic vessel the balance of 250 tons of coal that is to be taken from Lyttelton. A large quantity of timber from the dismantled huts is being stored away in the hold. To-morrow the remaining stores that are waiting to be dealt with in the Harbour Board’s shed will receive the crews attention. One side of the Harbour Board’s shed resembled an auction room.. This morning numerous quantities of cooking utensils and parts of chairs were lying in all directions, while large bundles of clothes were being taken from cases and allotted to shore parties. The garments to be worn by the crew of the Terra Nova and the shore parties are made of strong merino. Bach man on the shore staff is allotted fifty-nine assorted lots, while members of the ship’s staff will receive thirty-one. In all the total number of garments distributed wll reach 2,972. It is probable that the Terra Nova will leave Lyttelton somewhat earlier on Saturday than was expected. The time fixed now is 3 p.m.
