The Victorian Railway Accident.

NARROW GAUGE TRAIN DERAILED. 70 CASUALTIES. Per United Press Association. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. MELBOURNE, Jan. 29. A sensational accident happened lute yesterday afternoon to an excursion train off tho narrow gauge line from Ferntrco Gully to Gembrook. It consisted of eight covered trucks, containing 250 Melbourne excursionists. Rounding a curve the engine left the line, dragging with it three trucks crammed with passengers. 3t ploughed some distance up an embankment, and fell over on its side. There was a scene of wild excitement and when the passengers were extricated from the splintered trucks it was found that about seventy had received injuries, the majority slight. The most seriously hurt arc Mrs Cox and Ernest GJccson, injured internally ; Mrs Gloeson, damaged log ;T. Russell, fractured arm ; Driver Sheehan, fractured wrist and badly cut. Two others are suffering very severely from shock. Trains despatched from Melbourne brought tho excursionists and wounded home, a groat crowd waiting till early morning at Spencer street station.
