N.I. Band Contest.
Per United Press Association. HAWERA, Jan. 26. The final test selection was won by Wanganui, 116 ; Woolston (Lieut. Siddall), 115 ; Timaru, 105 ; Palmerston, 104 ; Taranaki, 93. Wanganui thus wins the £SO prize for the quickstep and £IOO for the lost ■selections. It is not known yet how the finances will turn out, but a slight loss is expected.
