WELLINGTON, May 3
Mi' Lincoln Rees, solicitor, son of Mr W. L. Rees, of Gisborne, died today while undergoing an operation for the removal of a growth from an eye. Mr Rees collapsed while undei' an anaesthetic. He was übout 30 years of age and leaves a widow and two children.
A young man named Chas. Bel was knocked do;wn by an elictric cax to-night and had a thigh broken. CHRISTCHURCH, M.x.v 3.
George Grimwood, whilst cycling in Colombo street this morning attempted to steer between a dray and an engine and fell. 'lhe i ngine passed over his right foot ; his side was badly bruised and his head was severely abrased. The'foot was amputated and Grimwood lies in a serious condition.
Tn a bacon factory at Islington today William King slipped on a step and caught his eye on a hook. Eight stitches had to be put in the wound.
