BEAUTY INCREASING.
( London Daily Express.) A lUikor-slreet photographer gives it as his opinion that physical culture has enhanced the "beauty of the jrirls oi to-day. They compare most favourably with thos*e of 25 years airo in lace and form. " We do not now have as sitters," he .said, " the sick and sorry, wean' and languid lackadaisical girl of the seventies and eighties. Twentieth century girla are more robust types ol beauty." Another photographer considered the standard of loveliness amongst British women was never higher than it is to-day. He also remarked the decline of vanity among London's beautiful women, attributing this to the more active lives they led. " Men," he said, " are the vainer MC?i. Wo have v. Jot of trouble wit.lv male sitters. I believe they are much more concerned to please the girls than the girls are to please them. Coxcombs outnumber coquettes."
