•» Wright, Stephenson and Co. report : — bun entry on Saturday consisted of about 20 horses of all descriptions ; a few goad draughts which were forward realised in a keen competitive market from £45 to £51 ; two 3yr-old colts-, broken to all chain work, brought £.*1 and £4(5 10s respectively. Fanners arc somewhat behind with their work just now, and in many cases very anxious to secure good draughts. Where young animals- have not been forthcoming, farmers have- been obiiged to purchase aged horses and for these theno was a very spirited demand, one brown gelding bringing £40 10s ; a black marc, £40 10s ; a bay mare, £"30 ; a black mare, £28; and a bay gelding, £22. As a large number of our buyers havo been unable to meet their requirements, we can confidently recommend any of our clients who have useful farm horses to offer to try our next Saturday's market - Hacks and harness horses— The former sold at £..2, but of the latter hone were forthco*-*- tiffOn Saturday next we offer on account of Mr J.
