A stand collapsed, throwing 500 persons to the ground, a distance of some SO foot. One was killed and oO were removed to the infirmary, while 100 others, received less serious injuries.
Some policemen, have been arrested at Grangemouth, Stirlingshire, on charges of being implicated in systematic burglaries.
Viscount Curzon, Viceroy of India, has forwarded to the Imperial Government »a strongly worded and emphatic protest against burdening India with a portion of the cost of maintaining a garrison at the Cape.
