Invercargill Stock Sales.
Tuesday, 21th March
The liivorcargill Stock Agents report having held the fortnightly sale this day, when a ' good number of cattle and iy moderate yarding of sheep were offored. Fat ' Cattle. — 125 penned.. Prices showed a slight decline all round on lust week's rates. Best bullocks £8 lO.s (o £JO, and down to £7 10s for lighter ; best heifers, £7 15s, £8 and to £8 12s 6d for prime ; aged < unfinished cows, £5 15s to £4> 10s.
Prices for
Fat Sheep— 9Bo penned
nice quality were fully up to last iveek's, a few of extra good bringing
15s 2d. Itost wethers and maiden ewes, 13s 2d to" lls 6d ; best ewqg, 14s 2d to 9s 6d. Eat Jittinbs— Very few forward; best 12§ ? 9d tal3s 2d ; others down to 8s Od. '
Store Cattle.— JJ2 penned. 'Good dairy" cows at calving were in de-
mand, and sold at, £6 10s to £8 ; calves, 20s to 33s ; young well-bred steers, £3 10s td £3 l*9s' 6d.
Store- Sheep.— looo -yarded. The bulk were old owes, that made from 2s 9d to '-fifr-Sd.. Very few lambs were yarded, and these changed hands at 7s Bd, to 8s 5d ; no young breeding ewes were in. ■
