Charges Against a Registrar.

At tho enquiry to-day evidence was given showing that Christina McLeod, whoso mime Mr King yesterday stated wuK transferred from the city to the Kdon roll nt her owk request, never upI'licil for v. transfer unit that her son, on finding her name was removed fioni the city roll, had put in an application for reinstatement. TlNj examination of a ■list, produced )>y the temperance electoral oflire, of names alleged to havo been wrongfully othittcd, wps resumed. In most cases Mr King produced papers •showing that the applications were duplicates of names already on tho roll, were rejected on tho police reports or were on another $i>ll. In some instances it was claimed thut two persons of tho sumn name existed. Mr Heed 'solicitor) urged that the Registrar should correct technical errors in applications. Mr King retorted that Mr Heed's friends kept enrolment clulnis back and rushed them in oi\ the last day, thus embarrassing the Registrar.
Rvidence was culled by complainants in refutation of a .-statement made by Mr King on the. previous day to tho effect that a certain electors name had been expunged from the city roll because she had been transferred to Eden at her own request. The elector stated that shn hnd inado no such application. W. Richardson, temperance reformer, gave evidence na to his inability to get his name put on the roll prior to the election. Tho examination of lists of names was continued, but as several had been entered in error it was agreed that the remaining lists should bo checked so as to obviate loss of time. The Commission will resume on Thursday.
