The body of one of the wives of George Chapman (Koloffsky), the Southwark publican and alleged murderer, has been disinterred. After five years' burial it was found to be marvellously well preserved. The preservation is attributed to antimony, which Chapman is supposed to have given hor. Mr Asquith, speaking at Hull, congratulated the Government on the progress of pacification in South Africa and approved of the Alaska treaty. He taunted the Government with entering the Venezuela escapade, and declared that they were running into serious danger with a light heart. The proposed amalgamation of Westralian mines, cabled on 26th, has fallen through. Over 250 voters have been disfranchised in connection with the recent bribery at the Shrewsbury municipal election. A hundred" Liberals took Conservative money. Robert, son of the late Sergt. Storks, Governor of King's College Hospital, has bequeathed £60,000 to the institution.
