BLUFF HARBOUR.
ARRIVED. Feb. 14— Ruapehu, s.s, 4957 tons, Mayoss, from Lyttelton. N.Z. Shipping Co. , agents. The N.Z. Shipping Co.'s new steamer Ruapehn arrived off the port at 7 p.m. on Thursday and berthed at daybreak yesterdajr. Theßuapeha was built by Dennys, Dumbarton, last year, but was engaged for about six months in the Atlantic trade. Her length is 447 feet, beam 57 feet, depth 31 feet. She has triple expansion engines, twin screws, giving her a speed of 13 knots. She has accommodation for 200 passengers, and is one of the largest vessels that has visited the port. The Bnapehn is commanded by Capt. Mayoss, R.N.R., whose officers are Messrs Turner, Dunn, Thornber, Kettle and Miles. The chief engineer is Mr J. F. Black, who is assisted by Messrs Sommarville, Scott, Stewart, and Gordon. Messrs Turner and Calder are in charge of' the refrigerating plant and Dr A. Smith is surgeon. The Ruapehu loads about 3500 bales wool and skins, 200 bales flax and 100 casks tallow and sails for Lyttelton on Monday afternoon.
