SOMETHING LIKE A DEFEAT FOR GENERAL CLEMENTS. KOMATIPOORT THREATENED AND UTRECHT ATTACKED. KITCHENER ON A DEVASTATING BOER LEADER KILLED. A RAILWAY SMASH RENDERED ABORTIVE. [United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph— Copyrhjht. ] London, Dec. 14. A serious reverse has occurred to the force commanded by Major-Genoral Clements at Novitegedaclit. Two thousand five hundred Boerß attacked the British, who, after losing heavily, were obliged to withdraw to Hekpoort. Received 15th, 6.9 p.m. Fifteen hundred Boers threaten Komatipoort. The Utrecht garrison, having several guns, repulsed a larger force of Boers. It is feared that Dc Wet's force of 2000 will Blatter to their farms anil possibly rendezvous further off. Received 15th, 6.37 p.m. General Methuen marched from Ottoshoop to Zeerust, capturing 200 cattle, 1000 sheep and destroying stocks of grain. The Boer leader Lomner was killed at Ottoshoop. Boers ten miles from Standcrton derailed some trucks, but troops prevented them capturing the supplies.
