Newdigate (C), Warwickshire ; H. Kimber (C;, Wandsworth ; H. J. Tollemache (C), Cheshire ; Sir W. Hart Dyke (C), Kent; T. Taylor (U L), York ; Captain J. Bigot (C), Westmoreland. The following have been re-elected UH: opposed :—P. J. Power (A P), East Waterford ; T. D. Sullivan (A P), Donegal ; J. Roche (A P), Galway ; M. J. Minch (A P', Kildare; T. T. Bucknill (C), Surrey ; P. McDermott (A P), Kilkenny; J. C. Flynn (A P), Cork ; Sir G. Russell (C), East Berkshire ; A. M. Brookfield (C), Eye; and M. Shaw-Stewart (C), Renfrew ,E. Long (C) has been elected unopposed for Evisiam. Giles (C) beat the Hon. A. G. Brand (L) for Wisbech. Gretton (C) his been elected for Derby South ; Jones (L) for Swansea ; Milward (C) for Stratford ; Blundell (C) for Ince ; Lruiie (C) for Pembroke ; Hopkinson (U) for North Wiltshire. The sitting members have been returned fpr West Perth, Montgomery, Harwich, and Penrith. Members for the following constituencies have been returned unopposed ;— Enfield, Rhondda, Rye, anl North East Cork (W. O’Brien, A P). The Conservatives gain Beityman (?) and Woodbridge (Suffolk). In the Newcastle-on-Tyne election lor two members the polling was- C. F. Hamond (C), 12,883; Cruddq (C), 12 170; Hop. John Morley (L), 11,862; J. Craig 11,154 ; Hammil (Labour), 2300. Sir W, V. Harcourt states tl at he contests Monmouth chiefly’ in the interests of the Temperance party.

The Tories have secured 291 seats, the Liberals and Irish parties combined 102. Where Liberals have been re-elected it has been by immensely reduced majorities, and heavy majorities are recorded against the Labour candidates.

Received 7 p.m. Mr Edwards (C) has been elected for Hythe and the following members have been re-elected Spicer (L), Monmouth ;J. S. Will (L), Montrose ; Campbell-Bannerman (L), Stirling ; Cavendish (L), West Derby ; Baron de Worms (C), Etst Toxteth; Hon. Stanhope (L), Burnley. The Unionists gain Middleton, Fielden (C), beating Hogwood ; Cardiff, McLean (C), beating Sir E. Reid ; Exchange (Liverpool), Bingham (C); Eccles (Lancashire), Clare (C), Sir J. Maxwell's (C) majority over Sir Chas. Cameron for College (Glasgow) was 1145. July 19. Received 20ih, 11 p.m. Slight rioting took place at the Newcastle election, and the property of Conservatives and Unionists was wrecked. At the declaration of the poll Mr John Morley admitted the fairness and courtesy of his opponents during the contest. At the declaration of the result of the Mile End poll a rough felled Lady Mount Morris for declaring,that he canvassed and had secured the return of tho sitting Conservative member. The lady was insensible for some time.

Latest returns to date give the Unionists 305 seats, the Liberals 75, and the Parnellites and anti-Parnellites 76. The House consists of 670 members.
