HOBART, Mar. 30. Received 30th, 8.40 p.m. The Bank of Van Diemaus |Land pays another dividend on 12th April, making a gross reduction of its liabilities of L 418,000. A rich veiu of chloride and sulphide silver has been struck in the Washington mine, White River, assaying 15,811 ouoee3 and 44 per cent of lead to the ton. SYDNEY, Mar. 30. Received, 31st, 0.45 a.m. A Trades Conciliat ion Bill has passed thro ugh Parliament, but an early closing bill has been rejected by the Legislative Council by •25 to 7. A great fall in the prices of silver stocks has taken place, and some consternation was occasioned at Broken Hill at the fact, as the appearance of the mines do not warrant the fall. Folio wiug are the latest quotations : — Proprietaiy, L 5 6s ; Block No. 14, L 4 ; Block No. 10, L 5; Centrals, LI 10s. The fall in value of the latter is largely duo to collapses in the underground workings.
