SYDNEY, Nov. 20. The Guanliau's recent comments were based on a report presented to the New South Wales Anglican Synod last September recommending the formation of a committee at Home with a view to the churches' reunion, and the organisation, through the Archbishop of Canterbury, of a private conference of representatives of other Christian bodies for the purpose of obtaining a better understanding as to their mutual position and thus prepare the way to organic unity on the basis of the lines laid down at the Lambeth Congress. At a meeting here on Wednesday a motion for the appointment of a committee to carry the scheme out, was lost. MELBOURNE, Nov. 20. Heated discussions are taking place in the Houso of Assembly on the Railway Bill. In committee, Mr Gillies requested the Government to report progress. Mr Munro declined, saying he intended to finish the bill last night. The whole Opposition thereupon followed Mr Gillies out of the Chamber. ADELAIDE, Nov. 20. In the Lower House Mr Playford said that if Lord parrington made the statements attributed to him with respect to the drift of colonial politics and the attitude of Lord Knutsford towards the colonies, they were quite warranted.
