LONDON, July 3. Received 3rd, 7.15 p.m. Continuing his evidence before the Parnell Commission Mr M. Davitt maintained that Ireland was justified in seeking to secure a separate government. He had left the physical force party and joined that of which Mr Parnell is leader because be had come to the conclusion thftt tb,e j»oljey of Urn former ws9 h,opele*j.
J He wished to God that he were able tomorrow to make the l*nd question the stepping stone to separation. He differed from Mr Parnell now inasmuch aa that tbe latter was opposed to the complete separation of Ireland from Great Rritaiu, but he oontinoed to support Mr Piirnell, beleving that the necessity for separation would cease if the contentions of the National League were adopted by the Imperial Legislature. It is reported that M. Tbevenet (who produced lettera in the Obamber of D?pnties to prove that the Bnulangist v party had resorted to forgery of the names of Ministers to bring them into discredit) will resign his seat in coniequence of allegations that he is impli cated with M. Meyer in certain iliicif transactions in connection with Stock Exchange speculations. July 4. Received oth, 1.20 a.m. Amass meeting held in Chicago vehemently denounced the Clan-na-Gael as on organisation of assassins who were usurping Jtbe attributes of a government by decreeing death, exacting fealty, acd levying money to make war on a friendly nation. The meeiing demanded that the United States Goyernment Bhould suppress the association. '* Don Sagaeta.
