The ordinary meeting was attended by the Chief Commissioner (Mr J, Spence), and Messrs Lumsden, Toshacb, and Kinross.

The transfer of section 17, block 6, Makarewa, from Mary Mahoney to Timothy Mahooey was sanctioned.

N. N. Cook applied for deferred payment section 21, block 11, Campbelltown Hundred.— Granted.

The Wallace County Council wrote that there was no foundation whatever far complaint that the deferred payment moneys accruing on sections 133 and 134, Wairio, bad not been properly expended. The Chief Commissioner stated that he had written to the Department relative to the case of Michael and Davis Crowe, who having" capitalised a -defer, ed -payment section in Wairio district, and finding that the compulsory terra of residence would not suit them, wished to retrace their steps so as to be able to complete purchase. In reply to his letter the Minister had intimated that if the applicants desired to pay up the unpaid instalments on the deferred payment system they might be allowed to do so, any payments made since capitalisation to go to their credit, 'The applicants Bhould not be allowed to pay up the capitalised sum until they had resided tor a period of sis years. George Morton appeared in answer to a charge of not having complied withthe residence conditions in connection with bis deferred payment section in Hodgkirison. He had' three cat-h sections besides tbis deferred payment one, and his,hou39 was built only a chain and a half from tbe boundary of the latter. He had improved the deferred payment section, having ploughed it all over. The house should have been erected on the deferred^ payment section, but he was away shearing at the time, and the carpenter had made a mistake. — No action taken.

The same officer reported on tbe value of the unsold sections in the Waimatuku township, recommending that the cash sections be L3, per acre, and the price of the deferred payment sections reduced proportionately. — Consideration postponed. The Board then adjourned.
