Adelaide wheat, ex store, remains at 49s 6d ; and New Zealand ditto, 44s to 475. Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, 345. Australian tallow — Beat mutton has advanced, and is at 44s 6d ; best beef remains at 425.

At today's wool auction 9600 bales were offered. The tone of the sale waa rather weaker. Scoured wool waa generally about id lower than at the close of last sales. Inferior and faulty wools of all kinds were £d to Id lower. Scoured crossbred fleece and greasy crossbreds are irregular. Adelaide greasy wools are about -£d to Id below the last sales closing rates. Arrived — Ship Waimea, from Port Chalmers (August 12) ; Halcione, from Auckland (July 31). The homeward mails via San Francisco, wich left Auckland October 8, were delivered here yesterday.

Two of the men charged with being concerned in the murder of Detective Cox in Dublin, on the 27th inst., have been committed for trial.

It is announced that Sir George Fergusson Bowen, Governor of Mauritius, has been appointed to the Governorship of Hong Kong, and that Sir John Pope Hennessy, will take the vacant Governorship of Mauritius.
