QUEENSLAND.
A report from the surgeon-superinten-dent of the Devon immigrant ship states that many of the passengers came out with the view of getting relief from some disease, several having, been .hospital patients up to the .-time of embarkation. The weather has been fearfully hot in town and country, and several sunstrokes have occurred, and one was fatal. A Chinaman who had been imprisoned in the' Cooktown lock-up hanged himself with his. pigtail.
