DAN'S dam was the famed and renowned Black Diamond (imported), winner of the Port Philip Farmers' Society's " Challenge Cup," for seven years in succession, and never suffered defeat ; she was the property of J. At Bacchus M arsh he gained first prize, defeating sixteen others ; also at Ballarat he gained the Board's prize, value ten guineas, beating a field of twenty-two against all comers. When 4 yrs old he gained the First Prize at M ItoD, beating a field of ten, imported and colonial ; also for the best horse shown among a field of fourteen ; at Ballarat he gained First Prize, beafr* ing a field of fourteen. At the Grand National Show, held at Melbourne, he gained First Prize, value LSO, beating a field of thirty-five. At Bacchus Marsh he took Firsfr Prize amongst imported, beating Messrs A. and L. Grant's celebrated horse, Championimported from Scotland to Victoria by D. Ne&bit, Esq.— in a field of fourteen others } also First Prize for best colonial horse shown in a field of twelve others. In tho Wakatip, in 1870, he took First Prize; also in 1872, against all comers 5 and in the following year, at Invercargill, he gained First Prize (gold medal) against all comers. In the Wakatip again, in 1873, he took First Prize. 3e has gained in prizes, £281. ne is the sire o£ many prizs-takers. A good paddock will be provided for mares free. He has taken two first prizes, first when one year old at the Southland Agricultural and Pas* toral Society's Show, 1875, and also first prize at the Mataura Pastoral and Agricultural Society's Show, held at Wyndham, 1876.. New Zealand Prince is by the celebrated! horse Young Prince of Wales, imported by Henry Hill, Esq., by old Prince of Waies^ Prince of, Wales is so well knosa in thff colony that it is needless' to make any further remark on his pedigree. Dam, Brown Bess, by Young Scotchman, imported by Mr Ferguson to Sydney ia 1864. He waabred by Mr Wilson, Aberdeenshire, Grand Dam, Beauty, imported to Sydney by Mr G. B, Scott in 1865. Winner of seven first prizes ; three times first in Scotland, viz., at tho Dumlries and Ayrshire Shows. She got first honors as a two-year old, and again as a three-year old. She was first at Stirlingshire as a yeld mare, beating all comers, and was sever beaten in the colonies. She was purchased by Mr Scott before leaving the show yard for the sum of 120 guineas. Beauty's sire, old Killbernie Champion, also the winner of a great many first prizes in Scotland, thus proving N. Z, P. to be descended from the best strain of Clydesdale blood that is possible to be got. He is really a very promising horse of the age, and caanot fail to be a good breeder of Draught Stock.
