The clipper ship Conflict, 1174 tons register, commanded by Captain Hardy, left Wellington on Monday, the 7th inst., with a fresh N.W. breeze, and experienced light variable winds during the run down. Passed Otago Heads at 6 a.m. on the 11th, and Cape Sannders at noon ; made Nugget Point on the 12th, and experienced a strong southerly gale, with showers of sleet and rain ; passed the Nuggets on the 14th, ■with a light N.E. breeze ; on the 15th the wind changed to westward, with a moderate breeze, and towards night hauled round to the eastward ; made Dog Island on Tuesday night, and tacked ship v .til daylight on Wednesday morning, when she ran into the Bluff and anchored at the lower anchorage until afternoon, when she dropped up to the wharf. The Conflict is chartered by the New Zealand Shipping Company, and brings part of her original cargo from London. The brigantine Sea Gull, Captaiu Best, left Port Chalmers Heada on Monday, tho 13th inst., with a light N.E. wind. Experienced li»ht variable winds until off Waikawa on the morning of the 16th, when a strong S.E. wind came in, which brought her into the Bluff at 7 p.m. The s.s. Otago was detained here until daylight on Thursday morning, not being able to get out of harbor before dark.
