PARTINGS.
One by one the links are broken, Binding our affections here ; One by one our loved ones leave us. Friends and old companions dear. Some, our nearest and our dearest. From our clinging arms have gone; Leaving us behind to linger With our hearts so sad and lone. Here the links of love are broken. But a time will come again. When united, stronger, brighter We shall find love’s golden chain. So, while one by one is passing. Patiently we will follow on ; Loving still and serving ever Till our little work is done. —SUNNIVA.
