On Friday evening the corps did its volley-firing and some useful skirmishing on Goat Hill. Saturday afternoon was devoted to recreation, and military sports were indulged in. The first race was the 75 yards Guards' handicap, when nineteen competitors faced the starter, and it was found necessary to run it oft in heats the final heats falling to Priv. Beaton, with Priv.
