Farm and Poultry Notes.
Large orders are in hand in Sydney for ducks for South Africa, but exporters cannot get anything like the number they want. There is no fear of over production from a breeder’s point of view, as the demand for the South African market is practically unlimited. * # * Several thousand head of poultry were sold at the Queen Victoria Consumptive Home Bazaar in Sydney. Visitors seemed to like the novelty of something tangible to take home with them from a charity bazaar. * The net average price for Hew South Wales ducklings sent to London in Jane was 3s lOd per pair. This should pay our duck farmers. We (Australian Meld) consider ducks, with a very little good management, a veritable gold mine.
