Fat cattle. —197 head were yarded on Wednesday. Beat bullocks brought £7 10s to £8 10s ; extra prime, £8 15s to £9 ; medium, £5 10* to £6 10s ; best cows, £5 10s to £6 10s ; extra heavy, to £7 ss; medium, £3 10s to £4 15s■ Best crossbred wethers brought 17s 6d to 18s 9d (one pen extra heavy 21s) ; medium to good, 15s to 16s 6d ; best crossbred ewes, 16s 3d to 16s 9d; medium to good, 13s 6d t« 15s 6d. Oats : There is no improvement to note in the demand, but as growers still decline to accept lower prices than those quoted, buyers have in the meantime to give these for the few wanted, but business is restricted. Quotations for prime milling, nominally, Is 10s to Is lid ; best bright short feed, Is 9d to Is lOd ; medium, Is 7£d to la BJd ; inferior, Is 2d to Is 6d (ex store, sacks extra, net) Grass Seeds.—Ryegrass seed is still difficult to place, and no sales of any consequence are

effected beyond small lots to farmers occasionally, whan best dressed, heavy seed fetches 2s 9d to 3s 3d ; medium, 2a 3d to 2s 6d (ex store, sacks extra) ; cocksfoot (best dressed, in retail lots), 4jd to 5d ; medium, 2£d to 4d per lb (ex store, sacks extra, net). Chaff.—Market glutted. Quotations : For prime, £2 10s to £2 12s 6d ; extra do, £2 15s; medium to good, £1 17s 6d to £2 2s 6d per ton (ex truck, sacks extra, net.) Potatoes. —Owing to a considerable quantity baying come to hand during the past week prices have receded, and are now for best Derwents, 25s to 27s 6d ; medium, 20s to 22s 6d per ton (ex store, sacks weighed in, net.)
