SADDEST MOMENTS IN JELLICOE’S LIFE.
LONDON, October 22/ Lord Jellicoe, in a speech at the shipwrights’ dinner, named the saddest two moments of his life. The first was when, in 1914, ho boarded his flagship, the Ivon Duke, and was forced 1o tell her former chief, Admiral Sir George Callaghan, that he was taking over his command, which Sir George bad trained to a pitch of perfection never previously attained in any navy. The second was when he left New Zealand, of which he was GovernorGeneral from 1920 to 1924.
