THE HALF HOLIDAY.
(By Telegraph.) WELLINGTON, January 15. The Public Works Committee of the City Council last night decided to instruct their delegates to the conference next week to support Wednesday as the half holiday. CHRISTCHURCH, January 15. The City Council instructed its delegates to the conference of local bodies to vote for Thursday as the weekly half holiday. DUNEDIN, January 16. The city grocers have declared for Wednesday for the half-holiday.
