I A deputation consisting of about 80 resi* dents of Sydenham waited upon Inspector [ Brobam this afternoon in reference to the licenses of the Grown Hotel, Southern Gross Hotel, and the Sandridge Hotel. They pointed out that legal notice had been served on the licensees in terms of Mr Justice Denniston’s recent judgment. In the cases effecting those licenses the^ deputation asked. Inspector Broham whether it was Lis intention t'o take action to enforce the law and have the hotels oloaed. . Inspector Broham, in replying, said that a point had been raised in connection with th see licenses as to whether or not His He mor’s order quashing the certificates issued by the committee had also quashed the lice uses.
