WESTPORT, Ebb 8. The quantity of coal exported for the week ended to-day was 4115 tons. DUNFDIN. Fbb. 6. The Hon. J. G. Ward arrived on Saturday by the Hinemoa, and after representing the Ministry at the banquet to the Governor, left by the Hinemoa for Wellington direct to attend the Cabinet meeting to be held to-day. A number of bowlers arrived on Saturday night to fake part in the bowling tournament which commences to-morrow, which is to be devoted to inter-olnb matches. A pretty Roman Oatholio church in Northeast Valley was opened this morning by D* Moran, after which Dr Grimes, Roman Oatholio Bishop of Christchurch, preached. At the swimming tournament the 100 yards championship was won by Gnmmett, with Grow second. Time—lmin 22$seo ”* 1
