THIS DAY. NEW ZE r 4SiAND* (BV CBBHOBiI’H. J Found Browned. WELLINGTON, Feb. 6. Hobert Taylor, an old expressman, was found drowned in the harbour this morning. Nothing is known ns to how Taylor came in the water, but he had been drinking hard lately. The Poisoning Cases. Mr Skey is still engaged in analysing the biscuits and ingredients sent by a settler near Pahialuo. The materials were obtained in Woodvilla from a grocer, who sold the same stuff to other people, none of whom have complained of it. The biscuits which excited suspicion were made a week after tbe Pahiatua poisoning case. Colonel Hume being away, the result of the report nude is not officially known, but it is understood that poison was found in the materials banded to Mr Skey. Mr Rich’s SuccessorMr Andrew Hart, senior landing waiter in tbe Wellington Customs office, will be appointed Ololeotor at Timarn, and will be replaced by Mr 0. Sibbald, at present senior landing waiter at Auckland. The GovernorDUKEDIN, Feb. 6. The Governor’s informal levee this afternoon will be largely attended. He leaves on Monday for Christchurch. Fatal BoltMclntosh, the coach driver, has died from tho injdries received in tho recent accident. He leaves a widow and five grown up children.
